Bright Nights at Forest ParkNew England's Largest Holiday Lighting DisplayBright Nights, located in Springfield's Forest Park, is a family holiday destination. With nearly three miles of lighting displays, it's the Northeast's premiere holiday lighting experience: fun to see, affordable, and family friendly. For many, it's a family tradition and visitors are always looking for something new as the staff here are constantly adding and updating the lighting displays. Conveniently located right off of I-91, Bright Nights showcases many sections like Seuss Land, Letters to Santa, Victorian Village, Jurassic World, Winter Woods and many more. Santa will welcome visitors and take pictures at Santa's Cottage. He's available from Sunday through Thursday until 9 PM and Saturdays, Sundays and holidays until 10 PM except for Christmas Eve when he heads out at 8 PM to begin his world wide tour. :) Make sure to stop by the Gift Shop for some fun souvenirs and yummy treats. Visitors come from all over by car and bus loads. On average, there are between 30,000 and 40,000 cars that come throughout the 35 nights Bright Nights is open. Bus tours are another option to travel through the 2.5 mile stretch of lights. When you're driving, you may miss a few things here and there anyway. Buses give you the ability to take some pictures instead of watching for the person stopping in front of you. When you arrive by bus, one of the friendly elves greets the visitors with a warm welcome, program books, a cd or cassette tape of holiday music and Bright Nights Scratch Tickets! Bus Reservations can be made by calling the Spirit of Springfield at (413) 733-3900, faxing to (413) 739-0276 or by visiting the Bus Tours registration form page at www.brightnights.org. Speaking of the Spirit of Springfield, you can also visit some of the beautiful lighting displays found around the city of Springfield at locations like Tower Square at the Springfield Marriott hotel (seen from I-91), the Peter Pan Bus Terminal, Christmas trees atop the Monarch Place building, and the lights atop the Springfield Newspaper (The Republican) building.
