About Explore Massachusetts

Who's Leading This Tour?

Hi, my name is Phil and my entire life has involved the wonderful state of Massachusetts. I was born and raised in western Massachusetts, where I still currently reside today. Outdoor activities such as hiking and camping are my passions, as well as visiting historical tour sites and going to sporting events.

I completed my secondary education from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, just north of Boston, which provided me an extended opportunity to explore the eastern part of the state. In satisfying my love for traveling, I have been to every corner of the state over the past 20 years.

From the beaches of Cape Cod to the vineyards and wineries in the Berkshire Mountains to beloved old Fenway Park, there is not a more expansive first-hand look of what this state has to offer than from what I have experienced and am sharing here with you.

Why I Decided to Create this Website

Since I have had the opportunity to explore Massachusetts' many tourism attractions, I wanted to share a first hand account of what a beautiful place it is to visit and live in. The following, however, is the most important reason I decided to create this website.

After graduating college, I soon began a 9-5 office position just like all of my other friends and, well, everyone else. My commute was an hour each way, often through heavy traffic. I'm sure this may sound familiar!

Often times I would catch myself daydreaming of having the opportunity to be free to travel at will and having the money to do so. Coworkers I would share this dream to would reply, "Well, that's everyone's dream" and "That's not how the real world works". I kept asking myself:

Is this all there is to look forward to for the rest of my life?

Did I just spend the last four years at college prepping myself to sit behind a desk for the next 40 years?

No!

My love for traveling and being outdoors made me realize that I did not want to be confined to a desk for a 9-5 office position for the better part of my life. As with a number of companies in 2008, my employer's cost cutting led to the release of my entire department. Wish granted.

No matter what someone may say, no amount of dislike for a position can counter the demoralizing personal experience it is getting laid-off from a job.

You begin to ask yourself questions like, "Why wasn't I good enough?" and "What if this happens again 5-10 years down the road?"

As far as I'm concerned, any job can be considered temporary in this economy and honestly, I do not want to feel like I did when I was laid-off ever again.

It was time to take things into my own hands. It was time to become my own boss.

So Now What?

Being laid-off gave me the chance to focus my energy on what I love doing, which is exploring Massachusetts through various trips and experiences. I soon realized that there was a wealth of information about Massachusetts that is not widely known unless you are local to the area.

I have always wanted to create a travel site about Massachusetts and now seemed to be the perfect time, so sharing this information with others became a project I soon wanted to accomplish.

After a bit of research sifting through the numerous empty "Get Rick Quick" schemes, I came across a website creation service called Site Build It (SBI), which is run by a company named Site Sell. It is an all-in-one package geared towards absolute beginners.

I kept reading and found that I didn't need to have any programming experience or website design knowledge and didn't need to sell business or hard goods (although I could if I wanted to). All it takes is my brain and motivation. This definitely piqued my interest because although I've dabbled with a few webpages here and there, I've never created a full featured website business before.

Now, I am very skeptical when it comes to buying any type of money-making service on the internet as I've been burned before, so I do tons of research before I make a commitment of any kind.

The information on SBI's site almost seemed too good to be true, but then I came across all of the successful SBI websites on their results page. All of these websites are in the top 1% of all of the websites on the internet (millions). This was the proof I needed.

What really did it for me were the success stories of a guy named Elad and a woman named Birgit "B"; I could really relate to them on a personal level with the situation I was going through.

Site Build It provides me with all of the tools I need in order to get my information out to the world and to hopefully one day join the long line of success stories.

With all inclusive easy to use tools like site-brainstorming, site-building, site-hosting, and site-marketing products, I have just as good of a chance as anyone else does to create a profitable business.

If you are like I am and would love to find a way to turn your passions into a business, have a look at the SBI system and see if it is right for you.
